When 14 Minnie St opened its doors in the late 80’s it was known as Airforce Studios. Designed and built to impeccably high standards, it has seen some of NZ’s greatest musicians through the door – Straight Jacket Fits, Abel Tasmans, When The Cats Away, Dance Exponents, Push Push just to name a few. More recently – Anika Moa, dDub, Batucada Sound Machine, Reb Fountain, Moana & the Tribe, Maisey Rika, Sola Rosa.
A live room this size is becoming rare these days. It is especially suited to recording strings, horns and drums. We have the ability and isolation to record an entire band at once with minimal spill. The space is regularly used for film scores and we have capacity to fit up to 45 people seated or 80 people standing. A good selection of microphones and a large and comfortable control room complete the package.
